at the Oxford Said Business School

Inspired by a trip to Northern California, almost ten years ago an Oxford University professor initiated the beginnings of the ‘Silicon Valley Comes to Oxford’ concept which has evolved into the annual en masse gathering of the Silicon Valley community in the UK.
Since 2001, Silicon Valley Comes to Oxford “alumni” have lead masterclasses, panel discussions and tutorials at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School: Mike Malone of ABCNews.com, Jeff Skoll of Ebay and Participant Productions, Max Levchin of PayPal, Elon Musk of PayPal and Tesla Motors, Alex Welch of Photobucket, Biz Stone of Twitter, Matt Cohler of Facebook, Raymond Nasr and Chris Sacca of Google, Allen Morgan of Mayfield Fund, Maria Sendra of Baker McKenzie, Jerry Sanders of San Francisco Science and many other accomplished experts. Annually, the Valley-based entrepreneurs, technologists and investors share thoughts about entrepreneurial strategies and insights into disruptive innovations from the worlds of systems, software and the internet. The Californian veterans engage in an intelligent interchange of capital: knowledge, experiences and opportunities with the entrepreneurial students, researchers, faculty members of Oxford University and the wider business community, reinforcing synergies between two world centres of ideas.
